Rising damp in Ghent
Moisture marks were becoming increasingly visible along the lower walls. A targeted treatment was used to tackle the rising damp at its source.

Over dit project
Several interior walls in this home in Ghent showed clear signs of rising damp. The moisture was concentrated along the lower sections of the walls and had already started to affect the existing finishes. Without proper treatment, moisture can continue to move through the masonry and repeatedly damage new wall finishes.
The affected areas were first prepared so that the damp treatment could be carried out effectively. The walls were then treated to reduce moisture rising through the masonry.
Following the treatment, the walls are given sufficient time to dry before their final finish is restored. By addressing the underlying cause rather than simply covering the visible damage, the project provides a more durable basis for repairing the interior walls.
