Over dit project

For this large detached home in Aalst, Nu-Isoleren carried out a complete cavity wall insulation retrofit using EPS beads.

Due to the size of the property and its extensive exterior wall surface, this was a substantial insulation project. Carefully positioned openings were made in the brickwork, allowing the EPS beads to be blown into the different sections of the wall cavity in a controlled manner.

A detached property has exterior walls exposed on every side of the building. Properly insulating those cavity walls can therefore play an important role in reducing heat loss through the building envelope.

The EPS beads fill the available space between the inner and outer walls, creating an additional insulating layer. During colder periods, this helps retain more heat inside the home and can reduce the amount of energy required for heating.

Another advantage of cavity wall insulation is that installation is primarily carried out from the outside of the property. Major renovation work inside the home is therefore generally unnecessary. Once the insulation has been installed, the openings in the brickwork are carefully finished.

The actual energy savings vary from property to property and depend on factors such as the exterior wall area, existing insulation, heating system and household energy consumption.
