Cavity wall insulation in Antwerp
The existing cavity walls were filled with EPS beads to reduce heat loss without major renovation work inside the property.

Over dit project
For this home in Antwerp, the existing cavity walls were retrofitted with EPS bead insulation. Cavity wall insulation offers an effective way to improve the thermal performance of an existing property without carrying out major work inside the home or completely renovating the exterior façade.
Before installation, the cavity is checked to determine whether it is suitable for insulation. Small holes are then drilled into the mortar joints according to a carefully planned pattern. EPS beads are injected through these openings to fill the available cavity space as evenly as possible.
A properly insulated cavity helps reduce heat loss through the exterior walls and can make the inside surface of those walls feel warmer. This contributes to improved indoor comfort and can help lower the amount of energy required to heat the property.
Once installation is complete, the drill holes are carefully sealed so that the appearance of the façade is preserved as much as possible.
