What is Mijn VerbouwPremie?
Mijn VerbouwPremie is a grant provided by the Flemish government for renovation work and energy-saving investments in houses and apartments located in the Flemish Region.
For Nu-Isoleren, the most relevant categories are roof and external wall works. These include roof insulation, cavity wall insulation and external façade insulation.
Eligibility depends on factors such as your income category, the type of property, the work carried out and the applicable technical conditions.

Who qualifies for an insulation grant?
For applications submitted from 1 March 2026, owner-occupiers in income categories 3 and 4 remain eligible for Mijn VerbouwPremie for roof and wall insulation.
The house or apartment must be located in the Flemish Region and must have been connected to the electricity distribution network before 1 January 2006, or first occupied before that date according to cadastral records.
Your income category is determined using the most recently available tax assessment at the time of application.
An owner-occupier who also fully owns another house, apartment or building plot is automatically placed in income category 1.
| Household situation | Category 4 | Category 3 |
|---|---|---|
| Single person | Up to €24,750 | €24,750 – €43,240 |
| Couple or single person + 1 dependant | Up to €37,110 | €37,110 – €60,520 |
| Per additional dependant | + €4,420 | + €4,420 |
These income thresholds apply to applications submitted from 1 January 2026.
Which insulation works are eligible?
Mijn VerbouwPremie applies specific technical requirements to each type of insulation work. For Nu-Isoleren, roof insulation, cavity wall insulation and external wall insulation are the most relevant.
Roof insulation
New roof or attic-floor insulation may qualify when it meets the technical requirements of the scheme.
- ✓The newly installed insulation must achieve an Rd value of at least 4.5 m²K/W.
- ✓When insulating a pitched roof from the inside, a correctly installed vapour barrier is required.
Cavity wall insulation
Insulating a suitable existing cavity wall falls under the external wall category.
- ✓The cavity must be completely filled, be at least 50 mm wide and the insulation material must have a maximum lambda value of 0.065 W/mK.
- ✓The work must be carried out by an STS 71-1 recognised contractor. A cavity that is already partially insulated does not qualify for additional filling.
External wall insulation
Insulating an external wall from the outside may also qualify, including façade renovation combined with insulation and render.
- ✓New external wall insulation must achieve an Rd value of at least 3 m²K/W.
- ✓Façade finishes such as render are only eligible when combined with sufficient new external wall insulation.
The insulation work must meet all technical and administrative requirements applicable at the time of the grant application.
How do you apply for Mijn VerbouwPremie?
The grant application is submitted after the work has been completed and the required invoices and certificates are available.
Have the insulation work completed
Roof and external wall insulation must be carried out by a contractor. Certain techniques require additional contractor certification.
Collect your invoices and certificates
Keep the final invoice, any advance or interim invoices and the required contractor certificate. Cavity wall insulation also requires the STS 71-1 VVO certificate.
Apply through Mijn VerbouwLoket
Mijn VerbouwPremie is applied for online through Mijn VerbouwLoket, with a separate application for each category of work.
Track your application
After submission, you can follow the application through Mijn VerbouwLoket. The authorities may request additional supporting documents.
Invoices may be no more than 2 years old on the date the grant application is submitted.
What may change in 2027?
The Flemish Government is preparing an extension of Mijn VerbouwPremie for certain private landlords who rent their property under affordability conditions. They could become eligible for a 35% grant rate, comparable to income category 3.
An additional bonus has also been announced for certain landlords who rent their property through a housing company for at least nine years.
As of September 2026, these changes had not yet been finally approved. Nu-Isoleren will update this page once the definitive rules are published.
